Metallica, one of my favorite rock bands has fallen to the immense popularity of the touch screen wonder, the iPhone. The rock band has started offering Metallica's Live Recording through an iPhone App.The LiveMetallica iPhone App, which comes for $0.99 has been launched as a part of their ongoing World Death Magnetic Tour. Once you have the iPhone App on your phone, you can download DRM free recording of their live performances immediately after the show ends. Users can also buy the MP3 directly from the app, without the help of the iTunes Store. The App works in-sync with the LiveMetallica Website. You can also listen to sample songs and buy them within the app, which i guess is a cool feature for an iPhone app to have. You can buy the LiveMetallica iPhone App from the iTunes Store.

Defence Delays 3G Auction in India; DoT to Start the Auction Anyway

Posted: 05 Oct 2009 07:17 PM PDT

Delayed.jpgHah!! This news wont come as a shock to people who are waiting for the 3G auction to start rolling in India. The auction, which was supposed to kick-off on 7th December has been delayed again! The reason, the 20Mhz of spectrum which lies with the defence department will only be made free for this auction in 2010 and not in December 2009 as it was promised earlier. Now who can go against the defence department who wants to make sure that there are proper security clearances before the 20Mhz and the 25Mnz spectrum for 3G and 2G respectively are opened up for auction. After this the defence guys will be shifting to new optical fiber network that has been developed for them by BSNL. Its been more than a year that the 3G auction is getting delayed and there is frustration among users as well as service providers. This time DoT has taken a firm stand and has said that, it will anyway go ahead with the auction and till defence guys free up their spectrum in June 2010, some bidders will be put on hold.
