Nokia launched its 3G Netbook, the Nokia Booklet 3G at the Nokia World Event 2009 but India has already got its first Netbook with 3G functionality thanks to Tata Teleservices and Haier Mobile (Haier is one of the players in India consumer electronics market). Olive Communications announced this Netbook on the 8th September 2009, Olive is the parent company of Haier mobile. The Qualcomm chip set powered Netbook, named as X701H has 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD with 1.6GHz processor. The Netbook will take advantage of Tata Teleservices broadband network. Being a 3G netbook will also give it access to other mobile services and data services provided by Tata Teleservices. If that is not all, buyers of this gadget will also get the Popular broadband connectivity device Photon Plus. The Netbook is priced at 23,000 INR and Tata Teleservices will soon be introducing 10 models of Netbooks in the price range of 4,999 INR to 39,999 INR. These Netbooks seem to target buyers in all price range and it will be a good bundled offer for the Photon PLus device from Tata Indicom, which is already getting popular among users who need mobile broadband.

HTC Launches Affordable Android Based Tattoo

Posted: 08 Sep 2009 07:36 PM PDT

Tatoo_HTC.jpgThe HTC Hero came to India yesterday and the Android obsessed HTC has again announced the worldwide launch of its newest Android based phone HTC Tattoo, some how I like the names they give to these Android devices. The main push, which HTC is trying to give is that, Tattoo is an full featured affordable Android based smart phone that appeals to the general public. With this handset i guess, HTC wants to put the power of Android and smart phones in the hands of general public. Like the HTC Hero, the Tattoo also has the Sense feature that offers customization, other features include, 2.8 inch QVGA display with resistive touch screen interface, 528 MHz Qualcomm Processor, 512 MB ROM and 256 MB RAM, 3.5 mm standard headphone jack, Bluetooth 2.0, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS and a 3.2 meg snapper. The phone is named Tattoo as users can customize the colors and looks of the phone. The pricing of the phone is still under the hood but I guess it will be not too high as the phone is for masses and if the pricing is affordable then HTC should launch this one in India as soon as possible, where pricing is one of the main criteria of buying a phone and affordable Android based phone will be something new for Indian mobile users at least, in big Metros. Check out the HTC Tattoo hands-on video below.
