BlackBerry from RIM, which is an email junkies dream due to it robust and secure push email features will soon be facing a new competitor in India and its called Nokia Messaging Services. Nokia will be launching its Nokia Messaging Service in India in the month of December 2009. The service will be launched by Nokia on its S60 Symbian smart phones and Nokia is gearing up to get all the necessary permissions from the Indian Department of Telecommunication. This process of getting clearance for such service will be tedious thats for sure. Anyway, let see how do they compete with RIM in push email services. Nokia is planning to make this service available on 20 of its smart phones, all the E Series handsets will be there and I guess by that time Nokia will also launch the E72 here in India. [Via]

OEMs like Nokia have launched a lot of new services and products that appeal to the Indian rural mobile user. In the similar way, AirTel has launched a new service center initiative in the rural belt of Karnataka. Getting help on mobile services has always been a pain for the rural customers and in order to tackle this issue, AirTel will be setting up AirTel Service Centers in main markets across villages in Karnataka. These service centers will be equipped with personnel who will help rural subscribers with their problems/queries with respect to AirTel's mobile services. This is a good move by AirTel as it will facilitate quick servicing of rural subscribers and also help AirTel in increasing their footprint in the rural region. AirTel is anyway a market leader in GSM services. [Image belongs to: The Hindu]
