It been August and the iPhone 3GS, which was launched at the Apple WWDC in June 2009 has still not reached the Indian shores. The iPhone 3GS was a good change for the iPhone 3G users as it comes with the new iPhone OS 3.0, which has lat of features and functionalities as compared to the older iPhone OS and iPhone 3G. It was announced at the WWDC that the iPhone 3GS would be coming to 80 countries by August. It has made its way to many countries outside US but still has not reached India. Sometimes, I am really surprised to see that Apple, as a company behind the iPhone is still not so serious about the iPhone 3GS being available in India. After all, India is one of the largest and growing mobile markets in the world and companies like Samsung and Nokia are taking full advantage of tis fact. The iPhone was supposed to come to India in the first or second week of August.

Last year the iPhone 3G was launched in India but its prices were a real dampener to the launch and the sale of iPHone through official carriers like AirTel and Vodafone were very less. Not to mention that iPhone has found its way into the hands of Indian mobile phones users through the gray market route. According to some sources at Vodafone, the higher memory model of the iPhone 3GS is going to cost f****g 39,000 INR India. I know that Apple's products are not for mass market but like the US they should make the iPhone available for cheap with data plans so that the official sales go up and people don't take resort of the gray market route. Things like these are being discussed amongst mobile enthusiasts who are eagerly waiting to get their hands on the new piece of hardware from Apple.

Nokia N97 Mini surfaced a few days back on the blogosphere. Everybody said that its just a rumor and a thing like the N97 Mini never existed. But I guess now thats not the case as specs of the N97 Mini has also surfaced and like the N97 made its debut in last year's Nokia World Event, the N97 Mini is all set to show its face in this year's Nokia World 2009, which will be held in the month of September. What is surprising is that, there are going to be two version of the N97 Mini, one will be a 8GB version and the other would be a 16GB version, just like you have in the iPhone. It will sport a 2.9 inch touch screen and will be 100 Euros cheaper from its Big daddy, the Nokia N97. I hope with this new Mini version of the N97, Nokia also solves some UI lag issues that were present with the Nokia N97. If N97 Mini is a hit then Nokia N97 might feel the pinch.
