MWC 2009: Samsung Beat Disc Music Phone Posted: 16 Feb 2009 08:08 AM PST Samsung Beat Music phone, which leaked sometime back has been made official today at the Mobile World Congress 2009. The Samsung M700's audio is powered by Bang & Olufsen, so you can guess how crisp and clear the audio will be. The phone is called Samsung Beat Disc Music Phone and has B&O's ICE amplifier thats gives you deep bass with crisp treble. As you can see in the picture, the phone's design has been inspired by the jukebox and apart from an impressive audio, the phone has a 2.6 inch touch screen with 3 mega pixel snapper. Other features include, slider mechanism for keyboard access, FM, Stereo Bluetooth, Music recognition and music tagging. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi and HSDPA connectivity.

Posted: 16 Feb 2009 05:04 AM PST Nokia is all tight lipped about its upcoming 8 mega pixel camera phone, which will be the Finnish giant'' flagship camera phone after the N82, which was one the best camera phones that Nokia ever came out with. The phone's specs have leaked, which look something like this, 3rd Edition FP2 1200 maH battery AM OLED 2.6in display 240×320 resolution 8mp camera with aperture f/2.4 (good for low light) Mechanical shutter goes up to 1/1000 sec (good for action shots) Video 640×480 resolution at 30 FPS Scratch Resistant hard-glass front 3rd gen dual LED flash and video light 8GB internal storage + microSD slot Lets wait and see what in store for all you Imaging Phone fans out there. MWC 2009: Nokia Announces Nokia 6710 Navigator and Ovi Store Posted: 16 Feb 2009 04:31 AM PST Apart from the E55 and the E75, Nokia announced the successor of its 6210 Navigator named Nokia 6710 Navigator. This phone focuses more on in-car navigation and pedestrian guidance. Maybe Nokia learnt some lesson from the poor in-car navigation of the Nokia 6210 and made this amendments. Nokia 6710 comes with the latest Nokia 3.0 maps applications with a 5 mega pixel snapper. You can also geo-tag your snaps, I guess this is becoming a must-have function for all phones equipped with Navigation capabilities. Ovi Store: Apart from the three phones, Nokia also announced its Ovi store that will offer users a lot of content, which will be based on their locations and preferences. The content that will be offered in the Ovi Store will range from rich applications, games to widgets fro smart phones. The store will be live from May and Nokia users with S40 and S60 devices can make use of various applications and products available on this store. This is Nokia's version of its App Store. Nokia has also opened up this store for developers so that they can showcase their applications on this store and earn 70% of the money, which comes from the sale of the applications they have developed. This strategy will encourage more and more developers to develop applications for Nokia phones and make their presence felt on the Ovi Store.

MWC 2009: Nokia Announces E55 and E75 Posted: 16 Feb 2009 03:56 AM PST Finally, the day has arrived and Nokia has announced two of its enterprise phones, the E55 and the E75 at Mobile World Congress 2009 held in Barcelona. Nokia E55 is the higher and slimmer version of the Nokia E51 and it has a QWERTY keyboard. Having a QWERTY keyboard does not increase the width of the phone as it has two letter on one key. Nokia 55 is not all about enterprise phones as it also has N Gage support. Other functions include a 3.2 mega pixel camera, A-GPS, 2.4 inch screen, which can be also viewed in landscape mode, which makes reading email comfortable. Being a email focused phone, Nokia has also improved its predictive text technology with the phone correcting misspelled words and learning new words. The phone also features a multimedia player that can play music & media files, RDS Radio. You have quick access to home screen, calendar and email functions. The innovative Voice enabled User Interface lets you control the phone without even touching it..Cool!!! Don't know when its coming to India but it will fall in the range of INR 15 to 17K. The Nokia E75, which leaked way before this event is the first Enterprise phone from Nokia with a side sliding QWERTY keyboard. The Nokia E75 will be shipped with Nokia messaging solution making it a phone for mobile email users rather than mobile Internet users. Nokia has also improved it email client with this phone to handle HTML and also edit office documents, so kind of a Blackberry killer. E75 is a Quad band GSM phone with dual band HSDPA @ 3.6 mbps. The phone features a 3.2 mega pixel snapper without LED flash and a 2.4 inch QVGA screen with a resolution of 240 x 360. Other features of the phone include, multimedia support with video recording at 30fps in QVGA quality, A-GPS, FM Radio, Wi-Fi and 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone has a dual home screen so that you separate your work and personal life and when it comes to memory cards, the phone supports microSDHC cards and has a microUSB socket. Now the good part is that this phone will be launched around March 13th 2009 and will be priced around £389.99, which comes to around INR 28,000.
