| Analysts Predict 2 iPhone Variants this year Posted: 11 Feb 2009 06:33 PM PST
Every June, from last two years, Apple is launching its iPhone. First it was the iPhone in June 2007 then came the iPhone 3G in June 2008 and now there are rumors that Apple might be coming up with an upgraded iPhone, most probable a 4G iPhone, you never know. Also the speed at which the previous iPhone have been selling in different countries is slowing down and Apple's competitors especially Nokia and Samsung are coming up with touch screen phones that are affordable and have a host of functions. Other threat to Apple being the new touch phone from Palm, the Palm Pre with its revolutionary WebOS. Of course you cant match Nokia and Samsung's touch screen prowess with that of the iPhone's but then these things must be worrying Apple a lot and they need to renew their portfolio so that they keep people hooked to their multi-touch device. Analysts are predicting that Apple might be launching a $99 iPhone with 2 year contract with the operator, functions like EDGE, Wi-Fi, 2G and 8GB memory. The other variant will be an upgraded iPhone 3G made available at the same price point as earlier, 3.5G support, enhanced camera, maybe more than 2 mega pixel and a video recording feature. Lets see if the rumors or these analyst predictions come true. |
