Two Nokia Events and One Apple Event in Jan gonna Kick-Off Our 2010

Posted: 18 Jan 2010 06:25 PM PST

The last week of Jan is gonna be very exciting for all mobile and technology enthusiast aroudn the world. I say so because, both Nokia and Apple are going to announce something big on 21st Jan and 27th Jan 2010. This is not a rumor as both the companies have officially confirmed their events and have invited people to these events. On 21st Jan Nokia has arranged for an event in UK where they are going to announce a new and better version of their Ovi Services. Nokia Ovi Services have Ovi Mail, Ovi Share, Ovi Store and Ovi Suite. So it seems all of this will be upgraded to a better and faster version. Nokia's EVP Anssi Vanjoki and Nokia UK GM Mark Lougharn would be there at the event and Nokia has already specified in their invite below that this event would be all about Ovi. By the way, Nokia already gave an hint of the new upcoming Ovi Store when they talked about Ovi Store hitting One million downloads per day. You can read there what Nokia says about the features of the upcoming Ovi Store 2.0.Ovi_Event_2010.jpgHowever, MobileCrunch reports that they have received an invitation from Nokia for an event that is happening on the same day in San Francisco. Unlike the UK event, Nokia has not specified whats this US event is all about. The Invite just says, Nokia's Journey Continues - "Join us to see whats around the bend"!!

Apple Event.jpgOn 27th Jan 2010, there is an invite only event that is arranged by Apple (see the image above). This event will be held at Yerba Buena Center of Arts, San Francisco at 10 AM. Apple, like always has not specified anything about what they are going to launch, but keeping the latest rumors in mind it seems that an Apple Tablet, new iPhone Software 4.0 and a new version of the iLife software are likely to be unveiled. There are also rumors that a 8GB iPhone 3GS would be announced. Well we will wait and watch whats coming this end Jan. While Nokia has already specified about their UK event, they are still mum on their US event and for the Apple event, it will certainly gather all the attention it deserves.

NSU.jpg

Nokia recently released the updated version of their "Nokia Software Updater" (NSU) application that is used by different Nokia phones to install latest Firmware changes pushed across the world by Nokia. Apart from having a better USB support, the latest NSU now supports Windows 7 operating system. You can use the NSU in the same way you used it on your XP or Vista based PC/Laptop/Netbook. Make sure your battery is fully charged while you are updating your Nokia with the NSU. High speed Internet connection is preferred. Compatible USB port and cables that came with the Nokia phone. Some times the NSU will fail to detect your phone on Windows 7 but try again and it will certainly detect the phone. While the updation process is in progress you will see that your PC Suite shuts down and there is a notification saying that your phone is disconnected, don't worry thats normal. Let the process happen on its own and make sure that you always take back-up of your data before updating your phone to latest firmware. NSU might run on MAC and Linux running Windows emulators but this is not tested so better you don't screw up your phone. You can download the latest version of the Nokia Software Updater here .
