Video: Google Maps on Nokia N900 Posted: 13 Jan 2010 08:42 PM PST Check out Google Maps on the Nokia N900. As of now there is no native Google Maps app for the N900 but this Google Maps mobile site looks pretty cool and I guess having a native Google Maps app for the N900 makes sense, given the huge screen and fast processor. It will be like a mini navigator.

Nokia 5800 New Firmware Update Brings Kinetic Scrolling, Improved Homescreen Posted: 13 Jan 2010 08:30 PM PST Yesterday, the much awaited V40.0.005 Firmware update was made available for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. If you have still not updated the Firmware of the 5800 then you can do it by either using the Nokia Software Updater. The Over The Air updater wont work for this update (same like it was with the recent E72 update). The update brings much awaited Kinetic Scrolling to the 5800, which came on the N97 and the N97 Mini sometime back. Nokia had been working on this update for the 5800 from quite some time and finally they have made it available. Here is what you will be getting to see once you update your phone - -Kinetic Scrolling finally!! (But Partial) -Improved touch screen response -Landscape version does not have a alphanumeric keypad now, when you turn the phone you will get a QWERTY keypad -If you loved the home screen of the Nokia 5530 then no problemo, you got the same home screen now on the Nokia 5800 with 20 contacts -The phone has become more robust and stable and when used the phone did freeze -More Secure -Updated Nokia Messaging -OVI Contacts pre-installed -New screen alarm when locked As you can see that some of these were the most awaited features for the Nokia 5800 and yeah, its a huge upgrade over the previous Firmware. Nokia 5800 did well in India in terms of sales and in the last few months the price of the phone has been dropping regularly, which has helped in sales. Existing users of the 5800 were very much disappointed with the touch screen phone experience of the 5800 when they saw the Nokia 5530 and the Nokia N97 and N97 Mini but now with this Firmware update, I am sure they wont feel left out.
