| New Samsung Phone has 12MP and 3x Optical Zoom Posted: 04 Jun 2009 06:17 AM PDT
Recently Samsung announced the launch of Pixon 12, its first mobile phone with 12 megapixel snapper that didn't make It to the Mobile World Congress 2009 but will see the light soon. Beat this, it is rumored that Samsung is going to announce a new phone with 12 mega pixel snapper and 3X optical zoom and Xenon flash in the second week of June. Optical zoom is one feature that most mobile phone camera users have been craving for and Samsung will the first one to give it to them. The pace at which Samsung is launching these high-end imaging phones makes you think, what exactly are they planning to do with this huge and costly portfolio of imaging phones. I guess this one the Pixon 12 only and not any other imaging phone from the Korean mobile giant. [Via] |
| N97 Coming to India in June end; Priced at 35,000 Rs Posted: 04 Jun 2009 06:10 AM PDT
Nokia's multimedia touch screen computer, the N97 will be hitting the India market in the fourth week of June 2009. The phone will be launched at a price point of INR 35,000. There is no information on the exact price of the phone but N97 falls in the high-end category of smart phones. News release from Yahoo News follows. "Nokia's flagship touch-screen handset N-97 will be launched nationwide within two weeks at a likely price of around Rs.35,000, the company announced Thursday. 'The handset is expected to begin shipping in India in the next two weeks,' Vineet Taneja, director-marketing of Nokia India, told reporters here. The price of the high-end smartphone would be around Rs.35,000, Taneja said while refusing to give the exact price. 'Fuelled by a multitude of media and applications through the Ovi Store, the N-97 transforms the Internet into an experience that is completely tailored to the tastes and interests of its users,' Taneja said. Ovi Store is Nokia's application downloading service through which users can procure free mobile applications for their handsets. Designed for the needs of Internet-savvy consumers, the model supports up to 48 GB of storage, including 32 GB of on-board memory, expandable with a 16 GB microSD card for music, media and more. This is complemented by excellent music capabilities, full support for the Nokia music store and continuous playback time of up to 1.5 days. The N-97 has a five-megapixel camera with high-quality DVD quality video capture. It also pioneers the concept of a personalised home screen that lets people choose their favourite content, providing an 'always open' window to applications or Internet content such as social networking sites, RSS feeds and other widgets." |

Currently he is toying with the phone and promises a review soon. In the mean while he has posted some comparative photo samples from the Nokia N97, N82 and HTC magic. He feels that the camera of N97 is better than that of the N82, which is like the best camera phone by Nokia so far and the camera of the N97 is quick to start and easy to use. |
