The collaboration of these two majors clearly suggests that it is an effort which will help both the organizations. Intel getting into the mobile world, already pioneers in their existing processor business. And for Nokia, it seems that it is their direct answer to the latest craze- the Android platform. Recently, Android has gained a lot of attention with its Open Source platform that allows not only manufacturers but individuals, to create applications that can take full advantage of all the handset has to offer. Due to its open nature Android has gained a lot of attention and almost every major manufacturer (Motorola, Samsung, SE, HTC…) announced their involvement with the Open Handset Alliance (Android's developers). With this initiative it seems Nokia is also trying to develop its own Open Source Platform. But by getting Intel involved it seems they want to gain an advantage by having a hardware manufacturer involved from the beginning. A code optimized for a hardware platform seems to be a better idea than a code written to perform a job then being implemented on a platform. Also, perhaps we will see in the near future more collaboration(s) between the two extending their cooperation from the Mobile Phone world to the Internet devices world.. The Tablets and Netbooks. A wild guess yes but seems logical, smart on Nokia's part. There have been quite a few number of rumors of Nokia showing signs of getting into the Netbook business with their N series Internet Tablets available already.
