| Samsung's Clamshell has SOS Feature with Deafening Alarm Posted: 30 Mar 2009 02:54 AM PDT
It seems that Samsung has made its mind to protect children and women from anti-social elements. After launching the Samsung Tobi for 8 year olds in Taiwan, the company has launched Anycall SPH-W7100 in the Korean market. Like the Tobi, Anycall SPH-W7100 has a 100dB deafening alarm that can be activated when the user is in trouble. Pretty cool huh!! Keep reading, if somebody forcibly shuts down the alarm, then the phone will immediately send the mobile users location using the in-built GPS. If you loose the phone is dark then the phone's bright LED lights will help you find it. With crime rate against women and small children increasing, mobile phones like these will be of great help and help Samsung in creating a niche for itself. [Via] |

| Feature Comparison: Nokia 6710 and Nokia 6210 Posted: 29 Mar 2009 11:06 PM PDT
Nokia launched the Nokia 6710 Navigator at the Mobile World Congress 2009. Nokia 6710 is the successor of the Nokia 6210 Navigator. 6710 comes with lot of enhancements over the Nokia 6210. Nokia 6710 has lot of features that make it a winner over the Nokia 6210, though Nokia 6210 is also a good Navigator device to have. Nokia 6710 has enhancements like 5 mega pixel snapper as compared to the 3.2 mega pixel snapper of the 6210. Also, Nokia has improved the in-car navigation in the 6710, which was not that great in 6210 Navigator. The phone has a big QVGA display of 2.6'' as compared to the 2.4'' display of 6210. Nokia has taken care of the multimedia in the 6710 by providing a 3D Graphics Engine, 5 mega pixel snapper, 3.5mm standard headphone jack (6210 has 2.5mm headphone jack and no graphics engine). Internal memory in Nokia 6710 is less at 50MB as compared to 120MB of Nokia 6210. But there is a microSD slot for 2GB in 6710 vis-a-vis a 1GB slot in the Nokia 6210. Nokia has enhanced 6710's navigational capabilities by providing Nokia Maps 3.0 (6210 has Nokia Maps 2.0), Navigation license for the entire life as compared to the 6 months navigation license on the 6210. When it comes to connectivity, Nokia 6710 has GSM, EDGE, WCDMA, high-speed HSDPA and HSUPA. HSUPA was not there in the Nokia 6210. Other enhancements in the Nokia 6710 include, Ovi Contacts, Flickr, N-Gage, Windows Live!, YouTube, Facebook, MySpace (Nokia has taken care of the social networking aspect in this navigation focused phone), Flash Lite 3.0 (6210 has Flash Lite 2.1) and a faster ARM11 600 MHz processor.
