| Posted: 29 Mar 2009 07:59 AM PDT Nokia launched the E63 in November 2008. E63 is a cheap and really good alternative of the costly E71. Though the phone looks exactly like the E71, it is not that high-end as the E71. Even its plasticky body does not compete with the sleek body of Nokia E71. Though, E63 is not that feature packed as compared to the E71, it can be a much better alternative of the E71, Enterprise phone. [Pics via: ePrice]

Check out this new site that has been launched by Nokia for promoting its E75 phone. This flash based site focuses on how the Nokia E75 mobile phone lets you easily send emails. The site is very catchy and you will remember the flash based site that was launched to promote the E71 that featured Dilbert using his E71 and doing day to day work. The site lets you actually write on the screen of a virtual E75 and if that is not all, you can send this email to your friend using the virtual E75. So even if someone does not have the E75, Nokia has made sure that the site will tell the prospective E75 user that, how easy it is to send an Email using the Nokia E75. I have been using the E75 from last one and half week and have blogged about the phone's features and my experience using the E75. Check out the Part I, Part II and Part III of my E75 review |

E-Mail on E75 - Nokia E75, being an Enterprise phones has been optimized for email communications for the business users on the go. Email communications on the E75 is one of its best feature after its rocking QWERTY keypad. Email on the Nokia E75 is a bliss. The email functionality on the E75 comes with HTML support and thats what makes it better from many of the email features that are available on other mobile phones out there. One of the main problems that i came across while handling email on the E75 is that, when you receive an email you will get a notification on the home screen. Now when you scroll to that notification and click to pone it, you will be taken to that particular mail. This is fine but after that, if you wanna browse other mails in your inbox, you cannot go them. In order to get to you inbox you have to go back to the main menu and then open the email application again. This is sometimes annoying and Nokia needs to do something about this. You will notice that the E Mail client on the E75 is much more advanced than currently available on many Nokia devices. This advance E Mail client is the killer feature of the Nokia E75. Though the E Mail client is really nice and cool, there are some problems apart from the one I highlighted above. Sometimes when I was trying to connect to my mail box the screen just froze and it automatically took me to the home screen, this happened back to back three times. I hope this was the problem with the trial device i got and not the application as a whole. I guess when this device will hit the stores for retail users, Nokia will make sure that it has an improved firmware and some of the problems highlighted above will be sorted out.
This is one more addition to the Cost cutting measures of the Finnish mobile giant, Nokia. After announcing the layoffs of 1700 of its employees, Nokia is now all set give a major heart break to its partners in the manufacturing of mobile phones. Nokia has stopped using the services of its contract manufacturers when it comes to the assembly of mobile phones. So now Nokia will manage its assemble lines by itself and will not depend on its outside contractors. In the year 2008, Nokia outsourced almost 17% of its manufacturing work to outside contractors like, Foxconn, BYD, Elcoteq and Jabil Technologies. Nokia's ability to adapt to the changing market demands and circumstances is commendable though the EMS (Electronic manufacturing Services) providers and ODMs (Original Design Manufacturers) will suffer from this harsh decision of Nokia.
