Nokia Planning Virtual Music Store in India Posted: 10 Mar 2009 04:00 AM PDT Nokia is all gearing toward the launch of virtual music stores for the Indian consumers who use Nokia handsets. Nokia launched a similar service in UK and got a good response there and that is one of the reason they are replicating the offering here in India. The new music servoice will be altered as per the taste of music loving Indian users and will also be made available on low-end handsets. In UK, Nokia made this service available on the Nokia 5130 XpressMusic handset, which was recently launched in India. Nokia India has already got into talks with leading music labels who have a presence in India including, Warner Brothers, Sony BMG, Universal Music and not to forget other leading Indian music labels. The service will be offered with a free one year subscription on select Nokia handsets. Good part is users can download and store unlimited songs and keep them for as long as they want. [Via]

Abhishek Bacchan Launches Motorola Aura in India Posted: 10 Mar 2009 01:22 AM PDT Whats common between Priyanka Chopra and Abhishek Bacchan? Apart from acting in a lot of movies, they both are brand ambassadors of two mobile phone OEMs. Priyanka endorses Nokia and Abhishek Bacchan endorses Motorola. Though Motorola is not doing that well here, Jr. Bacchan says that he likes Moto phones. Anyway, it his personal choice. If you remember, Priyanka Chopra unveiled the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic in India few months back and recently Abhishek has unveiled Motorola's new luxury handset, the Aura. Samsung Launches 2 TouchWiz Based Phones Posted: 09 Mar 2009 08:02 PM PDT Remember, I posted on how 2009 will be the year of touch screen mobile phones and now here we are, Samsung has launched two news handsets based on its TouchWiz technology. Samsung S5600 and Samsung S5230 both have Samsung's TouchWiz interface. Both the phones have pretty similar kind of features, with a 3 mega pixel snapper, Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, Touch Wiz interface, ability to play various multimedia formats etc. S5600 is a higher-end model that the other one with HSDPA support and more internal memory. Both the handset by the support 8GB of external memory with microSD support. The other interesting feature that both these phones have is the ability of the phone to wake up and take you to the main menu or any other item depending on the gesture you make....pretty cool huh!!! By the way, Samsung's D980 with dual SIM capability also featured the TouchWiz technology.
