Remember Hikaru, the phone from Sony Ericsson that was surfacing once in a while. Well Sony Ericsson has removed the cover from Hikaru and made it official during the start of the Mobile World Congress 2009 at a press event in Barcelona. The phone will be called W995 and Hikaru was the name just for the prototype, I guess, like "Idou", which was also showcased at this press event. As you must have guessed by now, W995 is a flagship Walkman music phone from Sony Ericsson. [Pics via: SE-Community]. Check out the specifications,

The phone will be available in the second quarter of 2009. With 2008 not as good as anticipated for Sony Ericsson, it will be trying hard in 2009, to woo users to its range of Walkman and Imaging phones.


First Symbian Foundation Smartphone

The Mobile World Congress has kicked-off in Barcelona and along with the W995, which was codenamed Hikaru before, Sony Ericsson has showcased it first S60/Symbian foundation based phone by the name, "Idou". It is pronounced as "I Do". This phone has a very interesting name and a the specs are pretty impressive. This phone was showcased by Sony Ericsson at a press event in Barcelona. The phone is not available officially but its just a prototype. The phone's Wi-Fi and GPS is DLNA certified with a 3.5 inch screen and 12 mega pixel snapper. The phone has the UI from the Symbian Foundation, which was formed last year.
